Croakies Artisan Belt Designs

Strictly creative project. Whatever I can dream up and make into a repeat pattern, I can submit to Croakies for a belt design. Love it. Hopefully, new designs by yours truly will be coming out in Fall of 2012!

Save Our Shores Collateral Material

I began my work with Save Our Shores by creating an invitation for their 2009 Annual Toast to the Coast benefit celebration. I composed an original watercolor of the Monterey Bay as seen from Pleasure Point, and used it as the basis for my design. I created typography and layout for the invitations and conducted press checks with Community Printers as well. The invitations were such a success with Save Our Shores and their members, that the organizers chose to use my watercolor as the branding for the entire event, and continue to use the brand every year hereafter.

In addition to the Toast to the Coast branding, I have also created two other publications during my time as a volunteer designer for Save Our Shores. One was a promotional poster for a fundraiser collaboration with Java Junction, and another was a coloring contest illustration for local schools. Both were deeply satisfying projects, and I look forward to having the time and money to volunteer more of my time to Save Our Shores in the very near future!

L. H. Selman, Ltd.

I was employed as an in-house designer for L. H. Selman, Ltd. for 18 months. During this time, we created three full-color, 64 page, 300-350 item auction catalogs. The initial bids for auction items were as high as $50,000, so clean, professional design, typographic detail, and photography/photoshop were of paramount importance. Furthermore, each catalogs time frame depended on when the glass pieces were chosen for auction, so deadlines were typically very tight. I was extremely privileged to work with artistic photographer Jordan Rose Jurich on these projects, as well as Neil and Trula at Sentinel Printers. Together, we developed a customized, streamline photo-editing proccess that made everything possible.

We also created a digital Winter Brochure in 2008, which was very similar to an auction catalog. I really enjoyed this project because I was able to create a very unique layout design and custom cover portraying the cold beauty of winter.

I was charged with several other design projects at L. H. Selman, which include but are not limited to press release layout, postcards, auction bid forms, trade magazine advertisements, and book layouts.

Praise the Board and Board Rescue Art Exhibition Signage

I created signage for “Praise the Board,” a Skateboarding History art exhibition at the Museum of Art History in 2009, under the tutelage of Judi Oyama, Creative Director of Maximum Impact Design. These signs were created using InDesign.

These are more signs that I created through Maximum Impact Design for the Board Rescue charity art auction. They were also created using InDesign, and printed with MPress Digital. These signs were a particular challenge for me because in addition to writing several bios for the artists, I also took responsibility for cutting and mounting the signs. Needless to say, I learned a lot about spray-mounting, x-acto blades, and keeping everything very, very clean.

Cabrillo Art Department Event Promotions

As a student of the Cabrillo College art department, I was asked to create promotional materials for a student exhibition, which included a poster and a window decal. It was a lot of fun, and a great experience.

Jessica Stucky & Jimmy Gardner Wedding Invitations

These wedding invitations were fun because I got the chance to be really creative. Any project that can involve watercolors makes me happy! I also worked directly with the print studios to make these cards perfect and find a great quote. I ended up going with MPress Digital, and was really happy with the product. I of course also enjoyed working closely with my sister Jessica to make sure these cards fit her creative vision for her perfect day.
